Hi guys! How have you been? Times flies whey you're busy huh? I can't believe my first week as CV in this new term already passed! But now that I'm more settled down I think the best way to start this is to let you guys know of what is going on around Digital Art and what to expect in the following weeks!

Thiefo WANTS YOU

I want you guys to know, I don't want my term as volunteer to be just about ME doing things. I personally don't think it should be anybody's job as volunteers to stand in front of the community, like saying "Look at me!" I'm not different from you, I'm just a deviant just like you. Sure I was given the honor of having a new symbol and with that, some cool privileges... for a time. But if you forget about the symbol for a moment, you'll see I'm the same old wacky guy who likes to use stupid gifs to make a point that I've always been.



So, let's work as a team! If you have cool ideas, share them with me! Maybe we can colaborate to make it work! If you have a contest going on, or planning a chat event or simply want a critique or some advice on how to improve your art, TELL ME! Maybe I can help you, maybe I can help you judge your contest, or help you moderate your chat interview. And I'm all for promoting your activities!

Project Educate

Digital Art will come back to #projecteducate for the first week of december! And following the same line of what I just said, I want YOU, the community, to get actively involved in it. What would you like to see covered? We have a little more than 2 months to plan it, so we have plenty of time to get together a kick-ass week! I want to hear from you, if you have ideas and/or want to participate, send me a note so we can start discussing ideas!

Attention DD suggesters!

I want to thank everybody for their amazing suggestions. I'm receiving tons of them and most of them are incredible! I wish I could select more of them, but unfortunately I have a limit of only 1 a day, so I have to select them very carefully. If you think about it, it's actually good, for I can focus on quality over quantity.

I'm currently using my tumblr to showcase some of these suggestions, and I plan to make detailed feature articles with some of them in the near future, so don't worry if your suggestions aren't always featured as DDs, I'll make sure they can still be seen by the community, they deserve it!

That being said, I want my features to reflect the Digital Art community as a whole. The D.A. (Digital Art) gallery is HUUUUGE and have tons of different sub-genres and themes. However what I've noticed so far is that most of the suggestions I've been receiving are for Painting & Airbrushing > Fantasy and also tons of Landscapes. I get these categories are quite popular and therefore they're suggested more, but there's way more in the D.A. category than just Painting & Airbrushing, Fantasy and Landscapes! And I wish to give exposure to the lesser known sub categories.

So, hardcore suggesters, you rock! But I have a special mission for you.

I encourage you to expand your browsing horizons when searching for deviations to suggest. Remember we also have Drawings and Mixed Media! Pop, Surreal and Psychedelic Art, Animals and Still Life, Political and Conceptual Illustrations, Abstract and Horror & Macabre! and many more!
