actually....i'm an obiwan!*ducks from all the bad star wars joke thrown at her* Truth is really all from one person's perspective so we don't actually know the truth unless your so totally objective. But that can never be since we all have our own ideals of reality. Lol, i'm such a nerd, i have spent years as a researcher discussing that very same issue and listening to everyone scream their way is the truth. If we all sat down and talked, we'd all find we're all viewing the same thing from different perspectives and frankly, i'd be amazed if two people ever saw the same exact thing. I did choose relative though because that fits closer to what i think. Imma a post this to my journal Thiefo.
Also, absolute truth is sort of a tyranny - if one truth is placed on us all, how does one prove it's value? Plus if one discovers their truth has flaws, sometimes they fall in extremes and try "kill" the other truths. Soviet Union is pretty good example - big truth that had flaws.
Relative - it might seem an easy answer, but that's how it is. Firstly, truth is only our expectation of how things ought to be - in cultural sense you only see things in perspective your culture gives you. We never fully understand, why some things are right in our little world while others might look at us and cry for help for such misled reality. Secondly, our understanding of truth changes in time - when you were a child, you believed your behavior was right as it was based on your knowledge, now you would never do things like that as you know better and your "truth" has changes.
Therefore, truth can only be a relative thing, not absolute. If to take in sense that truth as itself is absolute, not including the changing factors, then yes, the idea of truth is absolute. But in changing world, the value of truth is just as changing, being put together in number of factors, so, it's relative.
