What is this Awesome Achievement?
The Deviousness Award is an accolade which is traditionally handed out
on the 1st of every month to one truly outstanding deviant.

The Deviousness Award for December 2012 goes to UnicornReality.

Hi Fiona! So, now you're new in Ponyville, in fact you're now in the court of Princess Celestia, give us an introduction to yourself.

:iconlazywaveplz: Hello Everypony! :iconbrohoof1plz::iconbrohoof2plz:
I am UnicornReality also known as Fiona. I have reached level 26 in life and think I am doing alright so far.

On dA I have had the privilege of first being made a senior member, then I got a chance to look after the Stock and Resources gallery with my amazing partner in crime, LawrenceDeDark I helped to restructure the gallery and tried to increase knowledge about the medium in a fun, friendly way. I then was lucky enough to have a chance of watching over the Artisan Crafts gallery with FrockTarts and then with Talty, that was a lot of fun to do and I found quite a few new mediums I hadn't had all that contact with, such as wood burning and paper cutting.

Off line I enjoy the practice of making everyday fun in whatever way makes me happy. I enjoy sending letters to angony aunts and sign them from my mother, harassing my Mother in person and by phone and thinking of ways to harass my Mother when we're apart. :') I am getting married to a man who is mostly beard next year which
causes my eye to twitch uncontrollably. I also have a half finished house to move into but refuse to go until it is all done, until then I will stay with Mother. :D I do not enjoy this "adult" life. I went shopping on my own for food and just bought bones and a trifle. Such fun.

I try to go and visit Mollinda, RainbowSloth and kangel when I can, they are what I call enablers - they make me giddy and we do unadult, silly things. Oh I have written a lot. I must stop or I will go into embarrassing things like when I saw a spider and wet myself in terror...:')

Tell us about your change from Stock & Resources to Artisan Crafts. You were first a volunteer for the first and then one for the latter. What do you think prompted this?
:iconlazeplz: I think I had personally gone as far as I could go with Stock and Resources. I just didn't have the time or the place to provide the quality I wanted to give but I was still massively into the promotion of the categories and the community as it is a pretty great thing, the resource providers are all like a family and the support they give each other is amazing.

I had been interested in amigurumi for a while but couldn't grasp it - I gave myself a challenge:- learn to crochet or pass my driving test. I passed my test before I got to grips with the wool! (Second driving test, apparently running a van off the road is a fail. Tut.) So I read a few more tutorials, grabbed some hooks and taught myself to crochet. That became my new love which is why a term in the Artisan Crafts came abouts, a fresh interest, a fresh gallery and some new ideas for them both.

Now that we are talking about volunteering, which was your goal as one during your two terms, what legacy did you intend to leave  and do you think you achieved it?

:iconbralazeplz: I would hope that I helped prove that the Resources Gallery isn't one to be written off as "just a texture" or "just stock". Most of it is art within itself and the providers should be thanked for providing it rather than looked down upon. I hope I made the structure of it a little more user-friendly.

As an Artisan Craft CV I hope I showcased the often darker side of it, I love the cute rabbits and all but every now and again something quite different or shocking can be a welcome change. I hope I represented both of the galleries I watched over well and made the community feel listened to and valued, that was my overall goal.

About how you started; you've been a member for more than 9 years, what made you join and what keeps you here?
:iconlazydanceplz: Yeah it is really weird to think about how long I have been here, since my very first account it is around nine years now. Nine years! I would have been about seventeen, so I have grown and pretty much found myself  along with this website. I remember indy art, mosaics and all that stuff! (SO OLD) dA has been a constant source of inspiration and light. In dark days I know there is so much love and support - it really is life affirming. I have also made lifelong friends through dA, when I think that I might not have met them if I hadn't joined...well it sends a chill down my spine.

What keeps me coming back? The Community, it rocks. I love browsing about and seeing what is being done, what people have made, feedback for my works and what exciting thing the $taff have planned.

:iconmollinda:
"I know Fiona possibly better than anyone on DA - in fact only yesterday I was holding her in my arms... She was the first person to really welcome me to DA and showed me what there was so love about it - especially the Stock galleries. She is an amazing bundle of insanity, hilarity and gravy and makes my life infinitely better for knowing her. My postman, however, lives in fear of what laminated meat products she will be sending me next."

:iconkangel:
"I love Fiona! I met her a few years ago through Mollinda. She is one of the most amazing people I know and have the privilege to call my friend. She's talented, kind, funny and overall a wonderful person. I would let her be the front of the centipede (if that doesn't show how much I love her then I don't know what does). "

:iconpiratelotus-stock:
"Fi is definitely one of my favorite deviants.  She's creative, full of energy, and never without a witty comment.  I met her when she was a GM for Stock & Resources when I was just starting out as a stocker. She took time to show me the ropes and I wouldn't be where I am now without her.  Her kindness and unique way of bringing fun into everything shows in what she's done here, during her terms as GM/CV and beyond.  She's a wonderful person and I am so proud of how she's grown.  She is hilarious and amazing and I love her!! Congrats on Deviousness, Fiona, you deserve it "

:icontalty:
"Fiona is the most deliciously random person I've ever met, she mixes cute, creepy and weird in way I could never imagine, a true deviant. Her art, words and posts are full of an addictive positive energy and always fill me with happiness. She has a big heart and is always helping others, whether it is an autistic boy or her small group of disabled pets she has love for everyone. I can't think of anyone that deserves this recognition more than she does! "

How does it feel to have a friend as old as Mollinda?

:iconlazypoolplz: It is weird. I never thought that I would have a friend as old as Molly. She is older than dirt. If I had to have a Human Centipede, and one day I will, I would join Mollinda and kangel and RainbowSloth. It would (will) be amazing.

Also I like these cat things :iconlazeflirtplz: look at it there, the little minx.

How do you feel now that you received the last Deviousness Award for this year?
:iconfabulousplz: Fabulous!
I am totally and utterly humbled and would just like to again thank everyone who's made my dA journey so awesome!
